Pakistan Deaf Cricket Team clinched the Deaf International Cricket Council (DICC) T20 World Cup 2024 after beating Sri Lanka in the final at Cricket Vision Centre, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on March 12.

Zaka Ahmed Qureshi led the team with example as the Green Shirts remained unbeaten throughout the tournament that was played from March 6 to March 12.

Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in a one-sided encounter by 88 runs as the entire Sri Lankan team was sent back to the pavilion for just 63 runs in 16.5 after the Green Shirts posted 151 runs while batting first.

Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Australia participated in the tournament that was played in the UAE.

Newly-appointed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his gratitude after the Men in Green’s remarkable triumph in the UAE.

Naqvi congratulated the team for maintaining a high level throughout the tournament and emerging winners by recording a one-sided victory in the final.

“The Pakistan Deaf cricket team players performed brilliantly in the final,” said the PCB chief. “Basit Abbasi batted while Jabbar Ali and Manzoor Khan showed excellent performance in bowling.

“The win over Sri Lanka in the final was the result of pure teamwork and hard work,” he added. “I believe that sincere intentions, teamwork and commitment are the key to success.”
